Outlook to Salesforce
First-time Connection with Salesforce
Click the blue cloud View button from the Home tab of the Outlook ribbon.
Then, click Log in to Salesforce.
From the login screen, click Use Custom Domain
Enter ozarkstech into the Custom Domain field and click the Continue button.
Click on the Log in with myOTC Account button. You should be taken to OTC’s single sign on
Sign in using your OTC account and password as usual.
If prompted, click the Confirm button to connect Outlook to your Salesforce account.
Logging Email from Outlook to Salesforce
Click New Email to begin composing a new email.
Enter the “To” email address to send to
This will only be used if a student is in salesforce. So, if the person does not have a contact record in CRM, you will not be able to log an email to a student contact record activity.
If this is the first time, you will need to connect using the above steps. After initial setup, if you are logged into Salesforce, this should be easily accessible next time you use it.
Next, compose your email as usual, then, confirm on right side in Salesforce area that all is set correctly.
if you do not click on Log Email on Send, it will not automatically connect to Salesforce Activity. This means you can choose what you want to copy into Salesforce. It will only connect to Salesforce contact record if you click on Log Email on Send.
Next, on right, you can see the people
you are copying the email to in salesforce. You can unselect all if needed. Make sure NONE is selected in the Other section shown below. Then click Save.
Your email is ready! Click Send to send the email.
This will log email into Salesforce on contact in “Activity”. This is not the same area as Email Activity located in the middle area of the contact record in the CRM.
7. See Activity area below (this is on right side of contact record when viewing a contact)
You can expand the snapshot of email in Activities.
Click on email label hyperlink to open entire email.
Create a new Advising Note from Outlook
1, In Student area of Salesforce View type ID number, student name, etc. to locate the student you want to add a new advising note to.
Next, compose the Notes/Log area for the note you want to add to Advising Notes in CRM. Select the Category, remember to only use your categories, and then the type of note you are logging. Click Save.
Using an Email Templates
What to select to find your template (currently, only Tutoring Resource Email available):
Confirm correct student in both areas and the email template has merged into body of outlook email. Click send!
