Hoteling with Webex Phones

Hoteling feature enables you to temporarily load your phone profile onto another phone. This will enable a specific phone (host) to be used as your own phone. This helps when traveling to other OTC locations and you want to make or receive calls with your phone number and access features available on your office phone.

This article will detail the hoteling process in the Webex User Hub and explain how to turn it on, turn it off, and more.

ATTN: The user profile will need to have Hoteling enabled by IT. Please contact the Help Desk before you attempt to turn on Hoteling.

Accessing the Web Client

  1. You can access your Hoteling settings by logging into user.webex.com with your OTC email address.

    Once you log in, you will be on your Webex profile screen:

From here, you can access your Hoteling settings by clicking on ‘Settings’ on the left-hand side:

Settings -> Calling -> Call settings

  1. Click on ‘Calling’ on the top banner.

  2. Under ‘Calling’, click on ‘Call settings’ for a list.

Turn on Hoteling

Scroll to the bottom of the page and toggle the ‘Hoteling’ option to be on:

  • In the ‘Limit Association Period’, choose between 1 to 12 hours. The maximum is 12 hours.

  • Click in the ‘My Hoteling Location’ to see the list of optional locations of Hoteling hosts enabled for your user profile.

ATTN: The anticipated locations/hosts will need to be communicated to IT to add to your user profile. If you need locations/hosts added, please contact the Help Desk. See current hosts above.

 The chosen location will be shown below. If you need to change the location, simply click the trash can to delete the location and choose again. This will not delete the location from the system.

Your chosen location will be displayed.

 Click ‘Save’ in the bottom right corner of the page. Your user profile phone settings will be enabled on the Hoteling host.

Turn off Hoteling

Go to user.webex.com and toggle the Hoteling option (see above). This will turn off Hoteling and the host phone will no longer have your user profile. Hoteling will automatically be turned off when the association period is up.
