NKM 206 - Classroom Equipment Instructions
Instructions for using the TV and media equipment, using either the in-room computer, or a laptop, or both.
Using the Media:
Use the control to power the TV on/off.
The wireless keyboard and mouse can be used to interface with the computer. (The keyboard and mouse can be moved throughout the room as needed.) Note: Make sure both the wireless keyboard and mouse are switched on.
Select PC on the control to display computer content on the TV.
On the keyboard, select Windows Key + P to Duplicate the teaching station monitor (mirror the content on teaching station monitor to the TV), or Extend (have content on the teaching station monitor separate and move content back and forth between teaching station monitor and TV display.)
The HP Mini computer is located on the teaching station monitor. It is on the OTC network and can be used to access network files. Wake the PC by clicking the mouse or pressing any button on the keyboard, then enter your OTC username and password. Note: If the computer appears shut down, press the power button.
There is a USB cable below the computer that can be used with a flash drive.
DVD Player (located on the teaching station desk)
Open the DVD Player Software -- Located on the desktop (orange cone), or search for "DVD" using the Windows search.
Place DVD in player.
Use controls on DVD Player Software to play, stop, forward, or rewind.
Personal Devices:
Wireless Display (Windows Laptops & Android Devices)
Select Wireless Display on the control.
On your laptop keyboard, press Windows Key + K to connect.
On your laptop, select Room Name. You will need to enter a pin the first time. (Shown on TV)
Once connected, your laptop screen will display on the TV.
Press Windows Key + P to change the display options.
When you are done, press Windows Key + K to disconnect your laptop from the TV.
HDMI
Select Laptop on the control.
Connect your laptop to the HDMI Cable (behind the left side of TV). Note: There is an adapter on the cable for use, if your device doesn't have an HDMI port.
AirServer (Apple Devices)
Enables Apple users to wirelessly mirror their personal display over to the big screen.
Note: Every classroom should have AirServer capability. If you find that a classroom does not have AirServer capability and you would like it to be added, contact the Help Desk (contact information below).
When Finished:
Sign out of the computer, and select OFF on the controller to power down the TV.
