Option 1:
- Locate desired file. (in this case a .pdf file)
- Right click the file, mouse over Open with, and click Choose another app...
- Check the box that reads Always use this app to open .xxx files, and then select the software you wish to use for opening this file type in the future.
Option 2:

- Click Choose default apps by file type.
- Scroll down until you find the file type you want to associate with a different program.
- Click the program it's currently associated with, then the program you want to open those files with instead. (For example, you want to change your PDF files so that they open with Adobe Acrobat Reader DC instead of Google Chrome. Look for .pdf, click Google Chrome, then click Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.)

Change a Default Program by File TypeIf a program you want to set a default to isn’t listed in the instructions above, or you want to change what program opens another type of file such as PDFs, follow these instructions.
You can find out the extension type of files in File Explorer by clicking View and checking the “File name extensions box. |
