SMART Board display

  • If the classroom teacher's workstation has 1 monitor, the projector or SMART Board

    should 

    should duplicate

     the

     the monitor.

  • If the classroom teacher's workstation has 2 monitors, the projector or SMART Board

    should duplicate the LEFT monitor

    should duplicate the LEFT monitor

This is IT procedure to reduce confusion in classrooms where multiple teachers may be using the workstation. It can cause significant difficulty for instructors if these settings are changed and the next instructor is not expecting altered projector settings that may be projecting the opposite screen they expect, or set as an extended display.

The Windows Key + P can be used to bring up the Windows Projection Options.

Projectors

No Signal:

  1. Check the cable connections.

  2. Check the control panel on the desk to ensure the correct input (for example, PC

     or 

     or Laptop) is selected.  

  3. Check for power.

Projector will not turn on or off:

  1. Try pressing the power button on the AV Room control (Extron or Pixie)

    • If there is no response from the projector move to the next step.

  2. Try pressing the power button on the projector

    • If there is no response from the projector move to the next step.

  3. Remove the projector from power

    • Remove the power cable from the outlet for 60 seconds

  4. When you return power you will be able to power on and off the projector. 

Image issues – distorted, cut off, warped or scrambled:

  1. Press

  2. If there is an AV switch in place, disconnect the power, wait for thirty seconds and reconnect

Note

Most issues are due to wrong input selected.

SMART Boards

No Signal:

  1. Check connections and the inputs.

  2. If you are unsure what input to use, check the board itself to see where the connections are. For example: if there is a cable plugged into an HDMI1 slot, make sure the SMART Board input is set to HDMI1.

Display unresponsive to touch:

  1. Unplug the USB cable from either the side or the back of the SMART Board and plug it back in.
