8851 with KEM only: Adding speed dial via the portal

  1. Go to the Cisco Self Care Portal

    • If you’re prompted to create a PIN, please do so.

  2. Select Phones → Phone Settings → Speed Dial Numbers

  3. Click Add New Speed Dial

  4. Enter the contact’s name or phone number in the Number field. This will search the OTC directory.

  5. Enter a description for the speed dial in the Label box. This is what will display for the speed dial number.

  6. Assign a speed dial number in the Speed Dial text box.

  7. Click Save.

Connecting Bluetooth devices

  1. Make sure your Bluetooth device is in discoverable mode.

  2. 2. On your IP Phone, press Applications (the gear button).

  3. Use the center big round button to select Bluetooth → Add Bluetooth.

  4. Make sure your Bluetooth is set to On.

    • If it is Off, hit the On softkey below the screen.

  5. Use the center big round button to select Add Bluetooth Device.

  6. Select your device from the available devices list to pair.

  7. If you are pairing your mobile phone: When you are prompted to save mobile contacts, choose to make your mobile device contacts and call history available on your IP Phone.

Answering a call on another line

  1. Press the line button associated with the line you’d like to answer

  2. Press PickUp

  3. Press Answer to connect to the call when the call rings

Transferring a call

  1. While on the call (not on Hold), press Transfer

  2. Enter the phone number to which you would like to transfer the call

  3. Optional: If you want to speak with the person you’re transferring the call to, wait until the other person answers the call and you can speak with them. Or, you can wait to make sure the phone rings, to be sure the call connected successfully.

  4. Press Transfer again.

Looking up numbers in the Corporate Directory

  1. Press Contacts

  3. Select a search criteria

  4. Enter your search criteria and select Submit

  5. Scroll the person you wish to call, and select Dial

Dialing Other Numbers

  • If the number you are going to use is long distance, dial 1, then the 10-digit phone number. For example: 14171234567

  • If it is a local number, dial 9, then the 10-digit phone number. For example: 94171234567.

  • If you are dialing from an OTC phone to another OTC phone, you can dial the extension number. For example: 7548

Transferring Calls

To transfer a phone call with your Cisco phone:

  1.  While on the call, press the transfer button on your phone:

  1. Enter the other person's phone number.

    • To forward a call directly to the person's voicemail, press * before you dial the person's phone number. 

  2. (Optional) Wait until you hear the line ring or until the other person answers the call.

  3.  Press Transfer again.
