Dialing Other Numbers
If the number you are going to use is long distance, dial 1, then the 10-digit phone number. For example: 14171234567
If you are dialing from an OTC phone to another OTC phone, you can dial the extension number. For example: 7548
Note - If the extension only gives you troubles or does not connect, use the 10-digit number instead.
Transferring Calls
To transfer a phone call with your Cisco phone:
While on the call, press the transfer button on your phone:
Enter the other person's phone number.
To forward a call directly to the person's voicemail, press * before you dial the person's phone number.
(Optional) Wait until you hear the line ring or until the other person answers the call.
Press Transfer again.
Please note the process is the same for Conference Calls but using the 3-person Conference button while you are on a call with the first party. When you dial the number to Conference the second party in, you will will be talking to them first. Hitting the Conference button again will put all three parties on the line together. At that point, if you are no longer needed and the two parties are intended to speak directly to each other, you may safely hang up to drop off the call without interrupting their connection.
