Forwarding Calls with Cisco Phones

This article shows users how to forward their office phone to receive calls to a different device, both manually and remotely.

Step-by-step guide

In order to forward your phone:

  1. Push the soft button under the word Forward All.

  2. Type in the phone number of the phone that you wish to forward calls to.

    • Dial 1, then the 10-digit phone number. For example: 14171234567

  3. To stop forwarding calls to your phone, press the Forward off button which replaced the Forward All button.

Remote Call Forwarding

By using the Cisco Self Care Portal, users can forward their office phones remotely.

Note: You will need to be able to access OTC's network in order to log into the Self Care Portal. You can do this by:

  1. Using the VPN (OTC-VPN), if you are using an OTC-issued laptop;

  2. Going through https://remote.otc.edu/RDWeb/webclient/  and using the web browser, if you are using a home computer. 

  1. Once connected, go to: ipt.otc.edu/ucmuser

  2. Enter your OTC username and password and click Sign In.

  3. Once you log in, you will be on the Self Care Portal's home screen. Once there:

    1. Select Call Forwarding on the left-hand side.

    2. Check the box that says Forward all calls to:

    3. Open the drop-down box and select Add a new number.

    4. Type in the phone number of the phone that you wish to forward calls to EXACTLY as you would dial it on your office phone.

      • Dial 1, then the 10-digit phone number. For example: 14171234567

  4. Select Save. Your office phone will now be forwarded.
