How to Add the bitwarden Extension to Your Browser

  1. Open the Edge or Chrome browser and navigate to one of the following:

    1. For Microsoft Edge Bitwarden Password Manager - Microsoft Edge Addons

    2. For Google Chrome https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/bitwarden-free-password-m/nngceckbapebfimnlniiiahkandclblb?browser=chrome&pli=1

  2. Click on the Get button for Microsoft Edge or the Add to Chrome button for Google Chrome.

  3. You will then see a pop up that asks you verify you want to add the extension to the browser. Click the Add extension button.

  4. The browser will then add the extension and open a new tab where you can learn more about the extension. Explore the site if you want to, otherwise close the tab as you will not need it open.

  5. Click on the puzzle piece in the URL bar at the top right of your browser.

  6. Click on the bitwarden extension and a login screen will pop up.

  7. Enter in your OTC email address into the Email address field, then click Continue.

  8. Click on the Enterprise single sign-on button.

  9. It will then make you log into ADFS if you haven’t yet. Go through the normal procedure to authenticate with ADFS and then you will see a webpage that says you can close the tab.

  10. If you would like to see the extension in the browser toolbar, click on the puzzle piece again in the URL bar, then click on the eye icon (Microsoft Edge) or the thumbtack icon (Google Chrome) next to bitwarden.

     

  11. You will notice the extension icon has a lock symbol on it, click on the extension icon. A pop up will appear saying device approval is required. Click on the Request admin approval button.

  12. Network software will then approve your device from the bitwarden Admin Console. Once approved you will receive an email saying your Login request has been approved.

  13. Click on the extension icon again you should now be able to see your personal bitwarden vault and the bitwarden vaults you have been granted access to.

     

  14. If you still see a popup up saying the device needs to be approved, click the Request admin approval button again and you will see your personal bitwarden vault and the bitwarden vaults you have been granted access to.
