Student user name and default password format
Student and user names can be found by going to https://my.otc.edu and clicking "What's My User Name?"
Default:
Lower Case: First Initial of your first name
Lower Case: First Initial of your last name
Student ID Number (On Student ID Card)
Example: Jill Student (ID # 0011223)
User Name = js0011223
NOTE: You must use all seven (7) digits of your student identification number, including any zeros.
Student Default Password Format:
Upper Case: First Initial of your first (preferred) name
Lower Case: First Initial of your last name
Birthday (mmddyyyy)
Example: Jill Student
Date of Birth: September 23, 1993
Password: Js09231993
NOTE: If you are a readmitted student who has had admissions or registration activity within the past year, your password will be your most recent password. If it has been more than one year since you have had any admissions or registration activity, your password will be the default password. If you're unsure how long it's been, or you don't remember your password, contact the Help Desk.
Password Guidelines:
The password must have a minimum of 8 characters
Cannot be any of the last 10 passwords you've used.
Must have 3 of the following categories:
At least one Upper Case Letter (A –Z)
At least one Lower Case letter (a – z)
At least one number (0-9)
Special characters (i.e. @, $ , !)
Choose your password wisely:
Keep it to YOURSELF
Do not include your first or last name
Do not include your social security number or your student identification number
And be creative!
For instance, use the first letter of each word in a phrase or pick a word and substitute a number for certain letters
