Student user name and default password format
Student and user names can be found at https://my.otc.edu by clicking "What's My User Name?" under the Troubleshooting menu.
Welcome to Ozarks Tech! When signing in to myOTC for the first time, consider the information below.
Note: When signing in for the first time, go to my.otc.edu or https://ozarkstech.edu/myotc/ and click on the myOTC login button.
Username Format:
Lower Case: First Initial of your first name
Lower Case: First Initial of your last name
Student ID Number (given in acceptance email)
Example: Jill Student (ID # 0011223)
User Name = js0011223
You must use all seven (7) digits of your student identification number, including any zeros.
Student Default Password Format:
Upper Case: First Initial of your first (preferred) name
Lower Case: First Initial of your last name
Birthday (mmddyyyy)
Example: Jill Student
Date of Birth: September 23, 1993
Password: Js09231993
If you are a readmitted student who has had admissions or registration activity within the past year, your password will be your most recent password. If it has been more than one year since you have had any admissions or registration activity, your password will be the default password. These default passwords expire after about one week - at which point, you must contact the IT Help Desk at (417) 447-7548.
Password Guidelines:
The password must have a minimum of 8 characters
Cannot be any of the last 10 passwords you've used.
Must have 3 of the following categories:
At least one Upper Case Letter (A –Z)
At least one Lower Case letter (a – z)
At least one number (0-9)
Special characters (i.e. @, $ , !)
Choose your password wisely:
Keep it to YOURSELF
Do not include your first or last name
Do not include your social security number or your student identification number
And be creative!
For instance, use the first letter of each word in a phrase or pick a word and substitute a number for certain letters
Password example: S2ccessf2l
Email:
Your email is your username@otc.edu
Example:
Name: Jill Student
Username: js0011223
Email address: js0011223@otc.edu
You can access your email from inside my.otc.edu or by going to https://outlook.office.com and signing in with your OTC email address and password.
