Use Dedicated Graphics in Windows

If you have a laptop that has a dedicated graphics card along with integrated graphics (i.e.. HP ZBook models), then Windows decides what applications use what card. But what Windows chooses is not always the best. Follow these steps to set specific apps to use the dedicated GPU instead of integrated graphics.

Open Settings and navigate to System > Display > Graphics

Depending on the application you are wanting to add choose the Add desktop app button or the Add Microsoft Store app button. With the Microsoft Store app option, you can choose from a list of apps. For the desktop app you must navigate to the .exe of the application you are modifying like so:

After choosing the app, scroll to the app in the list and click it. Set the GPU preference setting to the High Performance option in the list.

Repeat these steps for each app that need to use the dedicated GPU.
