Errors and Failures Opening Content in Canvas
This article is for users who encounter issues opening content in Canvas such as Syllabus, Teams, and other 3rd party content. Safari users may encounter an error containing the phrase Could Not Verify the ID Token. These issues are often caused by the browser rejecting 3rd party cookies, either by default or after updates, which are used in Canvas content.
Resolution
Please whitelist instructure.com in your web browser to pass 3rd party cookies.
Note: Safari is not a recommended browser for Canvas, due to differences in the way it handles 3rd party content with Canvas integrations.
If you still need assistance, please contact the Help Desk.
