Resetting Internet Explorer settings

If you are having difficulties with third-party software like SAM, ALEKS, myLab, etc., resetting your Internet Explorer settings may help resolve the issue.

This action will do all of the following:

  • Disable toolbars and add-ons

  • Change all settings to default

  • Reset privacy and security settings

  • Reset tabbed browsing settings and pop-up settings

  • Reset advanced options

Instructions:

  1. The best thing to do before performing an Internet Explorer Settings reset would be to restart your computer.

    • Test the third-party application in Internet Explorer to see if this resolved your problem.  If the problem persists, go to Step 2.

  2. Launch Internet Explorer.

  3. Locate the Tools menu in the upper right corner, and select Internet Options.

  4. Click the Advanced tab on the right.

  5. Choose Reset… from the Reset Internet Explorer settings area.

  6. Click Reset, then click Close when done.

  7. Close Internet Explorer and reopen.

  8. See if your problems with the third-party application are resolved.
