New OTC Student Application Guide

This article will cover the new student application process from start to finish. The new application is accessible as of 02/05/2024 on apply.otc.edu.

Step 1 - Create an Application Portal Account

When students first go to apply.otc.edu, they will encounter this screen:

What is an Application Portal Account?

To begin the application process, an application portal account must be created first. The application portal account is used to apply to OTC and access the application portal (apply.otc.edu). Once your application has been accepted, you will receive an official OTC account to access the OTC student portal (my.otc.edu).

To begin creating your application portal account:

  1. Click on ‘Sign Up’ underneath the Sign In button:

  2. Fill in the requested information, then click on Submit:

  3. Once you click submit, you will be sent a link to the email you registered with which contains a button that will let you set a password for the application portal account:

  4. Click on Login after setting a password for your application portal account:

If you ever forget your application portal account password, you can recover it by using the Forgot Password button next to the Sign Up button on apply.otc.edu.


Step 2 - Log Into the Application Portal

Once a student finishes setting up their application portal account, they may log in and proceed with the application proper:

  1. If you haven’t already, log into apply.otc.edu with the application portal account you completed in step 1.

    • The username is the email address you used to sign up.

    • The password is the one you set up via your email.

  2. On the landing page, click on the Start a new application button:

  3. The new application screen will then appear. Please note the URL here will not be apply.otc.edu but ozarkstech.my.site.com. This is the last step before the application - select the proper answers for your situation, then click on Start Application:

Step 3 - The Application

The official application process will begin once the Start Application button is clicked. Step by step, the application proceeds as follows:

Note - depending on which selections you make in the application, your application process may differ from the example below.

  1. Review Application - This screen will review what you input on the previous screen. Make sure everything is correct before proceeding with the Save and Continue button:

  2. Personal Information - This screen asks for personal information about you, the student. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

 

  1. Mailing Address - This screen asks for your mailing address. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  2. Phone - This screen asks for your phone number. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  3. Residency - This screen asks for your residency status. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  4. Demographics and Citizenship - This screen asks for your demographics and citizenship status. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  5. High School Information - This screen asks about your high school information. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  6. College Information - This screen asks for your college information (if you have taken college classes previously. You may not see this screen if you are a high school student). Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  7. Emergency Contact - This screen asks for your emergency contact information. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  8. Additional Information - This screen asks a variety of additional questions. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  9. Disciplinary/Legal History Information - This screen asks about your legal history. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  10. Military Information - This screen asks about your military history/experience. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Continue:

  11. Tuberculosis (TB) Questions- This screen asks about your Tuberculosis (TB) history. Fill in the blanks and drop-downs, then proceed with Save and Review Application - this is the final step!

  12. Review Your Application - You are almost done! This page recaps everything you have entered into the application so far. Double-check your answers, then when you are ready, click on the Submit Your Application button on the right-hand side of the screen:

  13. Verify & Submit - Review the verification statement and then electronically sign your application to finish up the application process.

Congratulations - you have applied to Ozarks Technical Community College! You will receive an email and your decision letter will be available in the Application Portal.

Checking Your Application Status

You can return to the Application portal on apply.otc.edu at any point to review your application status:

When your application has been reviewed, this will update to show your decision letter:

When you click on View Your Decision, you will see if you have been accepted or not:

Your acceptance letter also has your student login information present - this is the account you will use when accessing myOTC (my.otc.edu).

Your OTC Account

Once your application is accepted, you will receive an email to your personal email address (the one you used in the application portal) with your OTC login information. You can also see this information on your acceptance letter. You can use this information to set a new OTC password on my.otc.edu and access the student portal - click on myOTC login and proceed!
