Citrix Workspace - Decommissioned - DO NOT USE

Citrix Workspace and all related services have been decommissioned. Please use remote.otc.edu to access the Student Virtual Workstations: Student Virtual Workstation - OTC Knowledge Base - Confluence (atlassian.net)

Citrix Workspace allows you to get connected to applications and desktops delivered through Citrix.

  • This is supported on Windows, macOS, Linux, and there are mobile apps for iOS and Android. The following instructions are specific to Windows, but should be similar for macOS and Linux.

Citrix Workspace will run on ChromeOS using the app from the Chrome Web Store. If you are running a version of ChromeOS that is restricted from installing apps, you can select Use Light Version instead.

Installing the Citrix Workspace application

  • To download and install the Citrix Workspace application (previously Citrix Receiver), Go to citrix.otc.edu in any browser.

  • Select Detect Receiver.

  • Check the box to agree with the license agreement and select Download.

  • CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe should automatically download.

    • If the file does not automatically download, go to this URL to download it: http://downloadplugins.citrix.com/Windows/CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe

  • Launch CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe and run through the installation.

    • Keep the default settings. Do not select Enable single sign-on or Enable app protection.

  • Go back to the browser and select Continue.

  • On the prompt, click Open Citrix Workspace Launcher.

  • This will bring you to the Citrix StoreFront where you can launch applications or desktops.

  • When you launch an application or desktop, it may again prompt to Open Citrix Workspace Launcher.

Using the “Light Version” of Citrix in your browser

  • Go to citrix.otc.edu from off-campus or on OTC-Wifi (on campus) and login with your OTC credentials.

  • Instead of clicking Detect Receiver, click the link below it that reads Use light version

  • Choose which machine you would like to launch from either Home or Desktops and it will launch in your browser.
