Microsoft Teams - Channels

This article will instruct students, faculty, and staff on how to use channels within a Team in Microsoft Teams.

What is a channel in Microsoft Teams?

A channel is a dedicated space within a team for specific topics or projects. It allows team members to have focused discussions, share files, and collaborate on tasks related to a specific topic or project.

Each channel is linked to a specific team, and it has its own set of conversations, files, and wiki pages. This allows team members to have focused and organized discussions and collaboration on a specific topic or project.

Channels provide a dedicated space for team members to have focused discussions on specific topics or projects, without having to sift through irrelevant conversations in the general channel.

  • Easy Access to Files and Information
